Power Ups

Zwift saves your in-game activities in the industry-standard .fit file format. Learn how to upload and share your logged activities with third-party sites like Strava, Training Peaks, Today's Plan, Map My Run/Ride, Garmin Connect, and others.

  1. Log in to Zwift Companion.
Android: Tap the menu button on the top-leftZwift PowerUps are like superpowers! They give you a temporary edge in the game. Pop a PowerUp and set a new PR on a solo ride or sprint, surge ahead of the pack in a group ride, or bridge to the group during a race. This video explains the different types of PowerUps, and how to use them to your advantage.
Follow these steps to get started with PowerUps.
You’ll receive a random PowerUp when you pass through a start/finish, KOM segment, or sprint arch. There are some exceptions. If you
pass through the arch carrying an unused PowerUp, you won’t receive a new one. And if you're riding a structured workout or riding on
a time trial bike, PowerUps are disabled.
  2. Activate your PowerUp in a number of ways:
PC or Mac: Press the keyboard’s spacebar.
iOS devices or Apple TV: Select the PowerUp icon on screen.
Zwift Companion app: Tap the PowerUp icon at the top of the screen.
  3. Once you activate your PowerUp, a circular white timer begins counting down counter-clockwise. The PowerUp is in play until the timer
finishes at the top of the circle.
  4. Below is the current roster of PowerUps.
  5. The Lightweight PowerUp reduces your weight by 9kg for 15 seconds. This PowerUp that looks like a feather is excellent for launching
an uphill attack or staying with the group during a challenging climb. Use it at the steepest point possible for maximum effect.
  6. If you’re in the draft and want a little rest, the Draft Boost PowerUp can help. This PowerUp looks like a van and increases the effect of
the draft, so you can maintain the same speed with less effort. You can also use it when sprinting from the back of the pack as it
boosts the draft effect you get from riders as you pass them.
  7. The Aero PowerUp makes you more aerodynamic for 15 seconds. This PowerUp with the aero helmet icon is great for sprinting,
attacking off the front, or bridging to a group.
  8. The Undraftable PowerUp looks like a burrito. It makes you undraftable. Use it when you want to solo off the front or make the person
sitting on your wheel work harder.
  9. The Invisibility PowerUp makes you invisible and it looks like a ghost. Your avatar will disappear for 10 seconds. Use this when going for
a sprint or making a big move off of the front.
  10. The bonus XP PowerUp gives you a big or small chunk of XP points automatically.
  11. Timing is everything with PowerUps. Before you activate yours, consider how long the PowerUp lasts and what it does, so you can use
it most effectively in your situation. Play with each one and get a feel for how they work.
  12. PowerUps are added to Zwift all the time. The more you ride, the more you’ll see.
