Most of us know a little bit about André Greipel’s impressive race resume that includes 11 stage wins at the Tour de France, seven at the Giro d'Italia, as well as multiple appearances on the top step of the podium at one-day races and classics. But fewer know about his personal connection to ALS, a disease commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease in the US.
His mother was diagnosed with the debilitating brain disease in 2013 that affects about 450,000 people worldwide, according to the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
Join Marcel Kittel, Marcus Burghardt, Thomas De Gendt, Tomasz Marczyński, Marcel “Sibi” Sieberg, and of course, André, as we seek to ride & raise funds for ALS research.
The group rides are free and part of Zwift’s #RideWithReason series. There are three rides to join. You can find more details on each below.
If you want to help join André in the fight, please donate to Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen.
Any amount is appreciated.
