SBS Cycling Central Zwift Fondo Series

SBS Cycling Central Zwift Fondo Series

The Zwift Fondo Series kicks off again in partnership with SBS Cycling Central - one of Australia’s largest media broadcasters with a passion for all things on the handlebars. Get fit together with us and put your endurance levels to the test. This mega-event brings together tons of Zwifters competing to make their best time. A fondo is a giant party on wheels, and many first-timers will enjoy the ride-at-your-own-pace style of the event. Seasoned Fondo riders, get ready to put your legs to work.

All Zwifters who finish an event will unlock that month’s exclusive Zwift Fondo kit. There are 4 kits in total for you to collect — ride each Fondo to collect ‘em all.

These jerseys are rare, prized Watopia items – hop in the saddle and join us at the starting line to see the finished look.

Note: You must ride the complete length of the Fondo to unlock that month’s jersey.

The SBS Cycling Central Zwift Fondo Series comes in 3 different endurance challenges: Gran, Medio, and Bambino lengths. Choose your preferred ride based on your timescale, fitness or your own personal goal. This is not a race, but some will choose to ride it like one. Do what’s comfortable, and go at your own pace. If this is your first Zwift Fondo or big group ride on Zwift, welcome aboard.

Unlike other Zwift events, the A, B, and C groups of the Fondo don’t refer to rider strength or fitness.  Instead, they correspond to route and distance options. You’ll have three to choose from:

  • Gran Fondo / A Group = The most challenging route including the massive Alpe du Zwift . This will be a long day in the saddle and riders should be prepared.
    • Route: Watopia Four Horsemen (89.3 km / 55.5 miles).
  • Medio Fondo / B Group =  Find a good pace and push hard to the finish, or find a group with similar goals and work together to complete the distance.
    • Route: Watopia Pretzel (72.2 km / 44.9 mi).
  • Bambino Fondo / C Group = Great for the time-crunched or first time Fondo rider.

Each Zwift Fondo will take place in Watopia over some of our most favorite routes.

  • Sunday, June 3
  • Sunday, July 1
  • Sunday, August 5
  • Sunday, September 2
