Specialized Mixtape Challenge

Turn up the music, get ready to ride.

Announcing the Specialized Mixtape Challenge! An 8 event women’s series that celebrates the unifying power of music.

The pedal-party starts on March 20th, coinciding with the launch of Specialized’s Mixtape Collection:  a limited edition array of bikes and clothing that’s both fashion-forward and retro. And it’s all inspired by the music that moves us.

The theme is: Press Pedal to Play. The audacious designs in the collection were created to motivate women around the world to kit up and have fun. There’s a reason a smooth pedal-stroke on a good day is dubbed, “dancing on the pedals!”

In an exciting collaboration, we’re bringing the collection to Zwift. This month-long challenge will put a spring in your pedaling step and fill your new Zwift garage and wardrobe.

To add some inspiration, we’re adding some cycling rockstars. 3 World Champion Specialized athletes — Anna van der Breggen, Chantal Blaak, and Annika Langvad —  shared their favorite workouts, complete with custom Spotify playlists to amplify your training.

Events will be scheduled at all time zones starting Wednesday, March 20th. The schedule can be found on this page starting early next week.

JOIN the challenge

Click on Specialized Mixtape Challenge box on your Ride Screen (when you log into Zwift). If you don't join the challenge, your rides will not count towards unlocking the kit.

Hardly. The Specialized Mixtape Challenge is designed to help you push your limits. That might mean leaving it all on the proverbial dance floor or just grooving with the community and tunes. If you’ having fun, you’re doing it right.

Want the full kit? Finish all eight events — 3 group workouts and a 5-stage tour —  to unlock the complete collection. Motivation is a close as your earbuds and the Zwifters surrounding you.

Every two events completed will unlock a piece of the Mixtape collection. At 25% you’ll unlock socks,. At 50% you’ll get the shoes. Hit 75% to add a helmet and 100% gets you the complete Mixtape kit! You’ll ride the freshly painted Mixtape Tarmac bike on every ride and it will be available in the Drop Shop shortly after the challenge concludes.

The perfect ride, like the perfect music mix, can elevate your mood. The Mixtape Collection taps into the nostalgia of cassettes and tape decks to crank up the volume of your on-bike style. Just press your foot to the pedal to play, and succumb to the rhythm of the ride.

"We’re are all so incredibly unique, but one thing that we all have in common is music. No matter how you ride, Mixtape calls you to make your most badass mixtape and to share it with all who’re willing to listen.”—Kayla Clarot, Head Designer

Tune into the collection

2016 World Champion MTB XCO

5 x World Champion MTB XCM

Annika Langvad first started cycling when she was in her mid-twenties, joining a local MTB club to stay physically active. It was 2008, and she was studying to become a dentist. Like kids to candy, she was hooked immediately, started racing, and received a big invite: to compete for World Champs. Talk about a meteoric ascent. By 2010 she was racing the World Cup. And in 2011 she was on the podium. She’s been collecting wins and strong finishes on both the road for Boels–Dolmans and on the dirt for Specialized.

Current World Road Race Champion

Anna van der Breggen is a Dutch professional road racer. Raised in a cycling-crazy family, all four of her siblings have raced bikes. She rides for Boels–Dolmans and is versatile as she is fast. Anna is successful in both one-day classics and stage races. And when the course is hilly, she’s even more of a threat. She also won the gold medal in the women's road race at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Giro d'Italia Femmine? She’s won it twice. When she’s not in the saddle, she enjoys playing the piano, painting, and knitting.

2017 World Road Race Champion

Chantal Blaak started 2019 with a bang, winning the first classic race of the season — Omloop Het Nieuwsblad —  for her team, Boels–Dolmans. 2018? A win at the prestigious Amstel Gold Race. In 2017, the Dutch cyclist won world road race championship in Bergen, Norway, when she soloed off the front with 8 KM to go. She was also Dutch national champion that year. That followed an impressive 2016, where she won Le Samyn des Dames, the Ronde van Drenthe, Gent–Wevelgem and the Holland Ladies Tour.
