Workout 1: XTERRA Workout 1 | Climbing

Description
The run course at XTERRA Beaver Creek is a challenging 2-mile singletrack climb with 8 steep switchbacks. This workout starts with a 10-minute warmup at a moderate speed before alternating 30 seconds at 10% grade and 2-minutes at 5% grade. Repeating 8 times, for a total of 20 minutes and a cool down 5 minutes, this workout will simulate those tough trail run climbs. Want an added challenge? Do this workout at 8,000 ft!

Workout Structure
After a warm-up at about 70% at 10k race pace, speed is maintained as the incline increases for the main set. The main set consists of 20 minutes, alternating 30 seconds at 10% grade with 2 minutes at 5% grade.
