TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please Note: The Movistar Team Challenge Community Qualifier Race event has been expanded to allow the Top 5 in each race to advance (20 total) instead of the Top 3 (12 total) based on race performance.
Before you participate in the Zwift Movistar Team Challenge Program (the “Program”), we’re obligated to ask you (the “Participant”) to read and agree to the following Terms and Conditions (“T&C”).
The Program is sponsored by Zwift, Inc., Long Beach, CA USA (“Sponsor”).
The Program will offer the opportunity to become a rider for Movistar E-Team, the esports team of Movistar Team. The Movistar Team Challenge Acts as a Talent ID program to find the best Zwift racers to build the Movistar esports Team. The riders will be required to go through a series of challenges to find the final 5 men and 5 women (10 spots in total). Movistar Team may assign a maximum of 2 out of the 10 spots for exceptional reasons in its sole discretion.
By participating in the Program, you represent that you are: (i) a female or male amateur athlete in good health, (ii) not currently racing in the professional category or have any personal sports Sponsorships other than with the Sponsor, and (iii) aged 18 years or older as of March 1, 2021. Employees of Zwift, Movistar Team, GCN, or other Program Partners (the “Program Partners”) are not eligible to participate. Program Partners reserve the right to verify the eligibility of Participants at any time during the Program including both physical/physiological performance verification and anti-doping tests. Void in all countries embargoed by the United States and where prohibited or restricted by law.
Failure to comply with any verification procedures will result in disqualification from the Program. In the event of any dispute concerning the eligibility of any Participant in the Program, the Sponsor’s decision shall be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
Rider Selection Process
For a rider to be eligible they must have a Heart Rate monitor, use a power meter and direct drive trainer (Dual power recordings) and be at least 18 years old as of March 1, 2021.
Up to 20 Riders (10 men/ 10 women) will be selected based on race performance that abides by the Zwift Esports Rules (found here) and applicable performance verification.
The top 5 riders from each qualifier race (Q1: 5 Male & 5 female, Q2: 5 Male and 5 Female – 20 total) will be invited to the Movistar Team Challenge.
Race Eligibility Requirements:
Riders who were either invited or qualified for the Movistar Team Challenge will be expected to complete all four scratch races and attend all finals events to be selected. Making it to each round will primarily come down to the rider’s performance. If the rider doesn’t meet the minimum requirement of each round to make it to the next round, they will be eliminated from the Movistar Team Challenge.
Movistar coaches will attend all the events of the Challenge in order to make a selection of the potential members of the Team. Movistar’s digital team will also perform social media profile reviews of riders where needed.
All selection procedures where performance is the determining factor will be verified by ZADA. Riders will be required to abide by the Zwift Esports Rules as outlined here. The determination of the Final Movistar Team is at the sole discretion of the Program Partners.
