The Norseman 2018 FAQs

When are the races?

We have four races planned taking place on the same day as the real-life Norseman event, on Saturday, August 4th. We will try to hold convenient start times for all time zones.

How hard will the race be?

This will be an extreme race course designed to test your climbing legs. The route will be the Four Horsemen: Total of 55.5 miles // 89.3 km and 6,929 ft // 2,112 m of elevation gain. Prepare to cover all of the major Watopia climbs.

How do I unlock the Norseman black jersey?

Complete any of the four races and you will unlock the full Norseman kit to wear with pride, and let everyone know you are a climbing ninja.

How do I win an entry to the 2019 edition of Norseman?

Everyone who finishes the race within 4 hours will be entered into a random drawing. One male and one female winner will be awarded a guaranteed entry slot into next year’s race.*

Please see Official Rules.

I am not a triathlete, but I’m intrigued. Can I take part?

Of course! The races are open to all Zwifters. However, the prize for next year’s entry slot will only be awarded to someone able to demonstrate a genuine desire to do the race.

Is drafting allowed?

All racers will be allocated non-drafting TT bikes. You can work together in groups or pacelines without penalty, but there will be no drafting effect.

Can I stop for a break?

Yes, stops for refueling or comfort breaks are expected on a ride of this length but the clock for the cutoff will continue to tick away.

Anything else I should know?

The race will be livestreamed at various points in the day from the real life Norseman event in Norway.
