EVENT DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THIS WORKOUT
Join Coach Markus Nübel of Trivolution Training for a weekly group workout designed to help triathletes raise their VO2max.
Climbing the Ladder is an intense session with a trivolution intensity score of 10/10.
Whoop whoop!
It fits great into the rhythm of a training week if you have a longer zone 2 session the next day or if you have a zone 1-2 run at the end of the day. Be careful, this session looks easy but it's NOT!
The bulk of the session is 12 (!!) VO2max intervals. As the power will decrease after every interval the length will increase. After each set you’ll have 5 minutes of easy zone 1 pedalling.
This will prepare your body for the longer VO2max sessions coming in the next weeks and it will help to raise your FTP.
WORKOUT DESIGNER
This session is designed by trivolution-training.com Head Coach Matthias, Coach K, Knossalla who is a professional German triathlete with numerous podium finishes around the globe.
He has been coaching triathletes for more than 10 years at every level from beginner to
professionals. Matthias has a master degree in sport science, is a Level 2 certified coach from
TrainingPeaks and holds a coaching certification from the German triathlon foundation. He is
a firm believer in the concept of „reverse periodization“.

ABOUT GROUP WORKOUTS
Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.
We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your current fitness level.
