EVENT DESCRIPTION
Start your running week with a group run hosted by the Zwift Runners Facebook group. The idea of these runs is to stay together and share the collective experience just like a group club run in real life. Please choose the best group for the effort level you want to run at.
This week we will be doing a largely steady paced run but with a theme of catching the pace bot.
Groups A and B will run together and start at 12.0 kph/7.5 mph for the first 5 minutes. We will then speed up to 13.0 kph/8.1 mph until we catch the pace bot who will go at 12.5 kph/7.8 mph. We will then stay with the pace bot until 15 mins. This is one set. We will then do a 2nd set by dropping back to 12.0 kph/7.5 mph for 5 mins, catching up the pace bot and running with it as before. We will do a 3rd set starting at 30 mins and should thus finish the 45 min run with the pace bot. Please post a picture on the Zwift Runners Facebook group of you crossing the finish line with the pace bot overehead and/or whenever we catch it up.
Groups C and D will do the same run but start the set at 9.5 kph/5.9 mph for the first 5 minutes, catch up at 10.5 kph/6.5 kph and run with the pace bot at 10.0 kph/6.2 mph.
We hope to have leaders for each group to text instructions and encouragement as we go but please make a note of the plan just in case.
We also hope to have a live stream of the 1930 BST event on the Zwift Run Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/GoZwiftRunOpens a new window so if you can’t run in this one you can watch us and join in with the chat instead.
