Skoda presents: Ride with the InternationElles
Group Ride
event-snapshot
EVENT DESCRIPTION
A ride led by the InternationElles, incorporating Skoda's cycling ambassadors Dame Sarah Storey, the DSI Academy Riders, Juliet Elliot and Adam Blythe.
This is a social ride, rather than a race, and is open to all. Our ride leader will keep a steady pace between 2.5 - 3 w/kg but you can ride however you are comfortable. Please use the Zwift companion app to chat, no matter how fast or slow you are riding the group chat will work and you are more than welcome to join in.
The InternationElles cycling team brings together female amateur cyclists from around the world to raise awareness for gender equality in cycling. The Tour de France doesn't have a female equivalent so we ride the route the day before the professional men to show that if amateurs can do it professionals certainly can. We open up conversations about prize money discrepancies, the lack of races for women, the lack coverage of women's racing, sexism within cycling advertising and we try to do what we can to close the gender gap.
Why shouldn't women have the same opportunities as men?
