EVENT DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the Social Spin with Human Powered Health and Thorne!
This ride is about spinning the legs out, having a good time, and hanging with friends. This is not a competition – push yourself as much (or as little) as you like! The Social Spin has rubber banding enabled, so regardless of how hard (or soft) you want to pedal, you are part of the group.
This month’s ride is hosted by Barbara Malcotti of the Women’s WorldTeam Human Powered Health. Hailing from the Dolomites of Trentino, Barbara is a climber well suited to the hilly Ardennes classics and stage racing and will be gearing up for the Trofeo Alfredo Binda. Having grown up in the mountains, Barbara has a natural affinity for those days on the bike when flat sections of road are few and far between. 2023 was a coming-of-age year for Barbara and her developing qualities as a GC rider were showcased by a top twenty finish in the Giro d’Italia. Barbara also scored her first professional victory in 2023, winning from an incredible solo breakaway effort at the Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l’Ardèche.
Barbara brings a special sense of Italian community to Human Powered Health. She enjoys sharing her teammate’s ways of life, exchanging cooking recipes & tips, and sharing the many words and phrases that are typical of their home countries. Her aspiration is to become a big name in cycling and a healthy person off the bike. Download the Zwift app to talk to Barbara live and ask her all about her upcoming Italian racing block.
One participant will be randomly selected to win a Thorne Training Bundle including Creatine, Amino Complex, and Beta-Alanine to support and enhance energy production, muscle endurance, and power output during training.
Another participant will be randomly selected to win a Pactimo team jersey. The prize winner can choice from for Ascent (traditional fit) or Ascent Aero (slim race fit)
Our Social Spin utilizes Zwift’s Rubber Band feature – this keeps everyone together regardless of ability or fitness.*
Your avatar will be equipped with the Human Powered Health fan kit and this will be available in your garage after completion!
