ABOUT JAMIE WHITMORE:
Jamie is a triathlete and Paralympic cyclist. She started competing in sports at 5 years old and always dreamed of making it to the Olympics. She was well on her way as a professional mountain biker and XTERRA triathlete until she was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. The cancer resulted in partial paralysis in her lower left leg. CAF gave Jamie her first grant to afford an AFO cycling brace and equipment to compete at the highest level possible. After relearning to walk and giving birth to twin boys in 2010, Whitmore won a gold and silver at the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016 and competed at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Quick note, did you know that wearing a helmet reduces the risk of head injury by up to 70%? CAF encourages you to wear your favorite helmet today :)
