EVENT DESCRIPTION
For the next two weeks Paralympic gold medalist, Dame Sarah Storey, will be hosting this ride, while the InternationElles raise awareness for gender equality in cycling.
Women cannot ride The Tour de France and there isn't a female equivalent, so the InternationElles cycling team brings together female amateur cyclists from around the world to ride the Tour de France route a day before the professional men. Why shouldn't women have the same opportunities as men?
Unable to ride the Tour de France route this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the InternationElles will complete the epic challenge, starting on Saturday, of riding the total distance of the Tour de France as a continuous relay from their homes on static bikes (3,470km in total!). On Friday 4th September they will then have the challenge of Everesting 8,848m in a single day – it’s going to be tough! About this ride:
This is a social ride, rather than a race, and is open to all. Our ride leader Dame Sarah Storey will keep a steady pace between 2.5 - 3 w/kg, but you can ride however you are comfortable.
Please use the Zwift companion app to chat, no matter how fast or slow you are riding the group chat will work and you are more than welcome to join in.
