EVENT DESCRIPTION
Why is this event called a “Chase Adventure?” Because it allows each participant to explore the upper reaches of their personal power map (zones) — primarily Zones 3 and 4 — while collaborating with other like-minded explorers on a similar journey, all sharing the same goal: to get stronger, fitter, and faster. This “adventure” gives each participant an opportunity to expand their personal “power map” and reach new heights of achievement.
As BMTR is known for having the “highest chat per kilogram” on Zwift 😀, participants will also enjoy fun, friendly banter and benefit from the support and camaraderie of their teammates and ride leader as they navigate this “adventure” together!
Ride Leaders will coordinate the B, C, and D Category teams to keep their effort levels within the advertised average w/kg range. The A Category team will self-organize their effort level.
**HOW THE "CHASE" IS SET UP**
Four teams will start at different intervals: Team D goes first, followed by Teams C, B, and finally A. The goal is for Teams A, B, and C to catch up with Team D near the finish line by working as a Team at their designated w/kg paces
When faster teams catch up to slower ones, riders can join them to increase their effort. Faster team members can also drop back to recover. If a rider can't keep up, they can return to their original group and try again the following week!
**SWITCHING TEAMS AND SWEEPING DURING THE LATE JOIN PERIOD**
You have a 30-minute Late Join period to switch teams if your current team isn't at your desired pace. During this time, we won't conduct any sweeps, so please use the Late Join feature to rejoin your category group if you fall behind. To rejoin or switch teams, do not “quit” the event; instead, simply “exit/end,” save your ride, then rejoin your original team category or select a different one.
**AVERAGE W/KG RANGE CATEGORY CALCULATIONS**
The specified average watts per kilogram (w/kg) pace ranges for each Team represent the overall average for the entire event. During the event, teams may, at times, exceed or fall below this range. The respective category event averages are calculated to keep most riders within Zone 3 and 4 effort levels. This assumes that each rider selects a category that accurately reflects both their Functional Threshold Power (FTP) and their Zwift-assigned category.
We look forward to having you join us!
