DESCRIPTION DE L'ÉVÉNEMENT
The 3R Climbing Series combines a group ride and an individual workout into the one event. At its heart the Climbing Series is a group ride, however participants are given the freedom to ride up the climbs at their own pace – to push their limits or perform an individual climbing workout. Therefore, this is a great event for those looking for a workout in a friendly and fun group environment.
Each week we ride a different course, though there is always plenty of climbing involved. Check the Event Module for the course each week.
We ask that participants adhere to the following rules:
- Flat sections are ridden as a group at a pace of 2.5 w/kg.
- On major climbs, participants may ride at their own individual pace – there is no maximum w/kg limit. However, a minimum of 3.5 w/kg average climbing pace is enforced. The leader will either ride at this pace or set an equivalent time cut-off to complete the climb.
- Riders are asked to stop to regroup at the top of each climb as instructed by the leader. We then continue as a group to the next climb at the flat road pace.
A minimum climbing pace is necessary to keep the ride moving at an acceptable rate. Participants unable to climb at 3.5 w/kg more than are welcome to join, however it must be understood that they may fall behind the leader group. Such riders are encouraged to form groups behind the lead bunch and continue together at a comfortable pace.
