No, most smart trainers are compatible with Zwift. Zwift Ready trainers offer additional functionality delivered through virtual shifting, unlocked by Zwift Cog and Click. There are also Zwift Cog Compatible trainers which unlock the same benefits of Zwift Ready trainers if you pair them with Zwift Cog and Click and update the firmware.
