The Mayo Clinic Bike Team is a public cycling club/team for Mayo Clinic employees, as well as their friends and family, who participate in cycling events throughout the year.

In addition to building community amongst our employees, as well as friends and family who join, an additional goal is to help bring awareness to and fundraise for important causes throughout the year, as well as a well-being initiative for our employees.

This year, we will be fundraising for the Mayo Clinic Hope Fund. The Mayo Clinic Hope Fund was created and named by Mayo Clinic employees and is the only fund that helps Mayo Clinic patients and families cover indirect, unanticipated costs (such as food, lodging, transportation, etc.) while receiving care at any Mayo Clinic location, enterprise wide.

We will be fundraising for this fund bi-annually at both the Tour de Tuscon and Tour de Scottsdale. At Tour de Tuscon, the event is expected to have up to 10,000 cyclists participate, not including runners for the 5K event, or spectators and supporters. We have a group of Mayo Clinic employes riding anywhere from 20 miles to 100 miles and we look forward to bringing attention to this fund bi-annually, as it directly benefits the needs of our patients and aligns with Mayo Clinic's primary value "the needs of the patient come first".
