EVENT DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THIS WORKOUT

This workout is intended to help develop your time trialling ability. For most Time Trials longer than 10 minutes, your Lactate Threshold / Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is almost perfectly correlated to performance. By riding a little bit over threshold, then a little bit below threshold, your body will learn to be more efficient at riding with lactic acid in your legs, which in turn improves Lactate Tolerance and FTP. It comes from the recently concluded Power Up Training Camp series of workouts here on Zwift.

In this session you will complete 2 x 15 minute blocks of '30 seconds over @ 105% FTP and 1 minute under @ 95% FTP'. Make sure you are mentally prepared for this session - it's a pretty tough one, but highly rewarding in terms of physical development.

WORKOUT DESIGNER

ABOUT GROUP WORKOUTS

Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.

We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your current fitness level.
