EVENT DESCRIPTION
This event is a social group ride. There is no ride leader so choose your own pace, go hard or easy, and unlock the SUB7 kit at the end of the ride.
The race to rewrite triathlon history is on. The Pho3nix SUB7/SUB8 project powered by Zwift aims to break the 7 and 8 hour time barriers, for men and women respectively, in the sport of long-distance triathlon (3.8 km/180 km/42.2 km).
On the men’s side, England’s two-time Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee is going head-to-head with Norwegian powerhouse and current Olympic Champion, Kristian Blummenfelt. For women, Swiss Olympic gold medalist and six-time European Champion, Nicola Spirig is attempting to defy the 8-hour barrier against 2021 World Champion, Lucy Charles-Barclay.
Want to make history yourself? Chase the barrier alongside these world-class athletes with 8-weeks of community events. With six events per day, enjoy a mix of social rides and runs, non-drafting TTs, and drafting races throughout the Zwiftoverse as the pros prepare to rewrite the history books during the IRL event on Sunday, June 5.
Turn up the volume on race week for an exclusive live broadcast featuring all the action. Will records fall? Tune in to find out!
