ABOUT THIS WORKOUT

This Sweet Spot (SST) workout is a time effective way to get stronger on the bike by building a stronger aerobic base and increasing your lactate threshold and VO2 max. It will begin with a 10 minute gradual warm up which leads into 3x30 seconds spin ups to make sure the legs are ready to work. The main set of the workout will be 3x8 minutes at 85% of your FTP and then conclude with a 15 minute cool down.

Coach's Bio: Kim Degen is a certified USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach with over five years of coaching experience. She is a current California Triathlon coach and has trained athletes from sprint to long distance triathlons.

ABOUT GROUP WORKOUTS

Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.

HELPFUL HINT

We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your current fitness level.
