EVENT DESCRIPTION
After our successful Spring Classics Series, welcome to Team Velos' new Monuments Summer Series - La Grand Boucle!
In honour of cycling's most famous race and the Women's Tour's most prestigious Stage Race we'll be hitting France for (like the Tour des Femmes) 8 Stages (with additional prologue), tying in some of the most famous rides and riders in cycling history with each Stage name in homage of their contributions.
The parcours features:
* 3x flat points races
* 3x hilly/mountain scratch races
* 3x ITTs
To be eligible for GC, riders need to complete 1x of each type of Stage. Various jerseys will also be up for grabs.
*** Race day 1 sees us bring back the prologue ITT, before jumping on to a Stage race later the same day. Don’t forget to sign up for both races!
* The Prologue is the INDURAIN Stage. Big Mig conquered the short ITT in 1993 and famously lost out to Chris Boardman a year later and his ITTs in France were of legend.
Finish points are awarded as follows: 100, 95, 90, for the podium and from 86 reducing by one point for subsequent finishers.
Stage 1 proper rolls out on Douce France for a flat points race - the SAGAN Stage. Peter Sagan holds the record for most green jersey wins and is synonymous with the points jersey. Start your journey for the maillot vert here!
Finish points are awarded as follows: 70, 65, 62, for the podium and from 60 reducing by one point for subsequent finishers.
Segments also score points:
1. Ballon (FTS) 10>1 pts for first 10 in each Category
2. Aqueduc (FAL) 10>1
3. Pavé (FTS) 10>1
