EVENT DESCRIPTION
Every Wednesday at 7pm UK-time, TRI247 present a triathlon focused workout brought to you by a guest 'coach.' This will include sessions by pro triathletes, coaches and notable characters associated with the sport.

The workouts are about 60 minutes long and designed to add variety and interest to your weekly training schedule. We are very pleased to welcome back one of the best British Time Trial riders ever, and now a highly successful coach to many triathletes this week, Matt Bottrill, as this week’s ride leader.

THE SESSION

Matt has compiled a challenging (but achievable!) session for tonight which will have you working hard… but feeling a fine session of contentment when you reach the warm-down.

The session comprises of three, 13-minute blocks, which will ramp up in steps of 5 minutes, 5 minutes and 3 minutes… before finishing with a 30 second MAX effort. Fear not, you’ll have a full 5 minutes of recovery time between efforts.

Those ramps will feature efforts at Sweetspot, FTP and above FTP before that final MAX effort. Come prepared… and don’t forget a drink!

WORKOUT LEADER

This week’s session has been set and will be lead by UK Time Trial legend and now highly regarded coach, Matt Bottrill (https://www.mattbottrillperformancecoaching.com/Opens a new window)

Matt has amassed a huge collection of National Championship titles, TT competition records and much more, making him one of the most successful British riders of all time. In 2016 and 2017, Matt raced in several triathlons with age group successes and more recently he is gaining an impressive reputation as a successful cycle coach to several top name Pro athletes, including Tim Don, Tim O’Donnell, Susie Cheetham, Adam Bowden and Matthew Hanson

Matt is also in demand for his knowledge of bike bitting and aerodynamics and was a key advisor to Victor Campenaerts (Lotto-Soudal), ahead of his successful Hour Record attempt in 2019.
