EVERYONE IS WELCOME! PLEASE READ THE DETAILS OF THE EVENT BEFORE CHOOSING A CATEGORY THANKS!

Welcome to the 2nd edition of the Weekend Run / Walk 1/2 Marathon.

As popularity has increased I have been asked to offer a B Category to the event so we are making it happen. A big thanks to Stephen Cousins who has stepped up to be our B Category Run / Walk Leader. This will be the 1st (B) category Run / Walk I have ever seen on Zwift so we have come up what we believe to be a challenging pace for you all. I will love to hear your feedback for future events. Our regular (D) Category will be the same as always and we are introducing an (E) category for anyone that wants to run at their own pace.

Here are the details of the 3 categories on offer:

(B) Category Run / Walkers will Run 1 Mile then Walk a 1/2 Mile
Running Pace 8.5mph / 13.7kmh = 7:03 min/mile Total (9.1 Miles)
Walking Pace 3.5mph / 5.6kmh = 17 min/mile Total (4 Miles)
Just to be clear you will Run a total of 1 mile but you will only be walking a 1/2 mile at the advertised Pace!
This Pace should be challenging enough to (B) Cat Runners that you will enjoy that 1/2 mile rest.

(D) Category Run / Walkers will Run 1 Mile then Walk 1 Mile.
Running Pace 5.3mph / 8.5kmh = 11:18 min/mile Total (7.1 Miles)
Walking Pace 3.3mph / 5.3kmh = 18 min/mile Total (6 Miles)

(E) Category = Run at your own Pace!

IF THIS ISN'T CHALLENGING ENOUGH I DARE YOU TO TRY THE .5 DEGREE INCLINE RAISE ON THE TREADMILL EVERY RUNNING SPLIT. ALL I SAY IS GOOD LUCK!
(B) Cats that would have you finishing on a 4.5 degree incline by the final split!
(D) Cats that would have you finishing on a 3.5 degree incline by the final split!

If your are doing one of the Run / Walk events during the walking phase we encourage people to join Discord and chat with fellow participants. If you need any help just look for me in the server. I am the Admin. (Ryan Boyd). There will be separate channels available for (B) & (D) Categories.

This is an event focused on Interval training and long rest periods. This event is all about communication and bringing people together to share experiences while we exercise and have fun. We also strive to help people achieve their goals and this is a great way to increase your distance without too much stress on the body.

IT IS ADVISED TO CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS TO IMPERIAL (MILES) FOR THIS EVENT AS IT'S EASIER TO FOLLOW UNLESS YOUR DOING THE (E) CAT OF COURSE!

We encourage people to stay together and work as a group but the beauty of this event is because we have such a long walk/rest period it is easy for people to catch up if they fall behind or have a tech issue/drop out. You just need to continue your run for a little longer to catch the group and get your well deserved rest.

If you don't have time to finish the event for whatever reason we encourage people to join a category for as long as they can. Feel no obligation to stay and finish but we do encourage it.
