Welcome to the Autism Awareness Ride!
This ride has been created to help Mike (BRT Member) and his 9 year old autistic son Bradley bring awareness on Zwift about autism.
Here is Mike & Bradley’s story -
In 2015 Mike started to change his life by losing weight and becoming a healthier happier person and in doing so discovered cycling. Mike also discovered that cycling with a purpose meant so much more so decided to combine it with raising money for charity and moreover charities that mean something to him.
This year is a very special year for Mike and more importantly his son Bradley who has been diagnosed with Autism. Bradley is really well looked after by his school but he has a daily battle with this condition and some days are very dark and some are truly magnificent.
Bradley is so brave trying to deal with this and is now at the age where he is trying to understand the condition as well as manage it and because of that Mike and Bradley would both like to use this year to raise funds for the National Autistic Society.
Mike will be riding the 100 mile Prudential RideLondon which is a tough 1 day challenge but they both really wanted to step up the game this year. So in August Mike will be riding from home to Lands End - AND BACK over 4 days.
The route is approx. 450 miles but on day 4 - Bradley will join Mike for his own 50 mile charity ride as they ride the last leg together. This will be both a rewarding and emotional experience and one that they truly thank you all for supporting.
In addition to Mike and Bradley’s efforts in the real world is the Autism Awareness ride on Zwift where Mike and Bradley will be taking turns on the trainer to complete the ride. BRT members and hopefully the Zwift community will be joining the ride to help Mike and Bradley reach the end.
Your support whether it’s a Ride On, taking part or donating via the link below will be very welcome and appreciated.
