Chase race with riders starting in 4 pens based on CE categories A, B, C, D. Handicap times are applied between pens. D cat riders leave first, followed by C, then B and finally A. The object for each group is to work together to chase and catch the groups ahead of you. The D cat group will try to stay in front of the other groups. If the handicaps are correct, then all teams will come together somewhere in the final kilometer, As this happens, the race changes from working in groups to an individual race, where the first across the line is the winner
