Time Trial Master and CCC Team Head of Performance Marco Pinotti opens up the pro workout not only for CCC Team's riders but also for you to join alongside Joey Rosskopf and Francisco Ventoso. Marco explains the session below!
In this intermittent workout session, we continue to increase the number of intervals completed. 3 sets of 8 x 30/30s will have you completing 12 min above the threshold. We will start with a 10 minutes ramp to warm the engine up.
After the warmup, we will do an 8-minute block of 30 seconds about 20% above FTP followed by 30 seconds of recovery at 55% of FTP. It is important that rest is not too easy to teach muscle fiber how to use lactate produced as a fuel
