Workout 1: XTERRA Workout 1 | Threshold/Tempo Climbing
Description
Inspired by our XTERRA Beaver Creek bike course, after a 10-minute warm-up, this workout will have you jumping into 3x5 minute intervals at 95% FTP, simulating the long 2,000 ft climb of this XTERRA World Tour course before leveling off and completing a 20-minute tempo ride (with some 30-sec punches) as you tackle the moderate trail across the mountain.
Workout Structure
The main set consists of 3x5 min at 95% FTP, followed by a 20-minute tempo at 80% FTP with frequent 30-second punches at 100% FTP.
