DESCRIPCIÓN DEL EVENTO
ABOUT
Welcome to Zwift's version of the 2018 Amgen Tour of California. We've hand-picked each stage to create a similar experience to what the Pros are racing. You'll get to experience what it's like to compete for 7 straight days over varied terrain and distances.
IS THIS A RACE?
No, it's a personal challenge against the distance and the clock. Some participants will ride the event like a race but there is no winner of Zwift's Amgen Tour of California. It's all about doing your best and trying to finish as many stages as possible.
PRIZES
- One lucky Zwifter will be chosen at random each day to win a signed 2018 Amgen Tour of California leader jersey made by ASSOS.
- One lucky Zwifter will be chosen at random each day to win an ASSOS bib short.
- Complete any stage and you'll unlock the 2018 Amgen Tour of California kit.
TURN UP THE VOLUME!
Before the start of each stage, Dave Towle, the "Voice of the Amgen Tour of California", will describe what the pros will face that day and pick his favorites. He'll also discuss what Zwifters will face in their stage. Be sure to turn up the volume, you don't want to miss it!
STAGE 6 / ZWIFT
It's the final climbing stage of the Tour and we we're heading up and over the Volcano Climb. While not as steep as the Epic KOM or as long as the Alpe du Zwift, after 5 straight stages you'll feel the pain when the road goes up.
COURSE: Volcano Climb
LAP DISTANCE: 14.2 mi / 22.8 km
ELEVATION GAIN: 669 ft / 203 m
STAGE 6 / REAL WORLD
From the start, the route heads uphill. Over the course of this 122 mi / 196 km route, the Pros climb nearly 16000 ft / 4900 m over four KOMs, even finishing uphill at the Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe.
Good luck Zwifters!
