This is a group ride that has competitive sprint segments. Although not mandatory, riders are encouraged to participate in sprints. After each sprint we quickly regroup and continue the tempo paced lap. The motto of the ride has always been "Faster and farther together". Come have fun with us as we train to improve sprinting capability.
We ride a course that is approx. 5 km (3 miles) and we continue laps for 60 minutes. Each lap has a timed sprint zone and we sprint at this area on each lap for about 7 sprints in the 60 minute ride.
The tempo pace is around 3.0 w/kg and we normally have a large peloton of 30+ riders moving at this pace.
Sprints are short duration (10 - 30 seconds) and will be competitive as riders use maximum power to compete for the fastest sprint time.
