Cannondale SuperSix EVO 2020
Michael Woods is back on the bike after breaking his femur at Paris-Nice in March, and he’s calling for fans to join him on his road to recovery.

Like most of the pro peloton, the Canadian is doing his riding in lockdown on the indoor trainer, and will be riding on Zwift every Wednesday & Saturday at 16:00 CEST / 10:00 EST / 07:00 PST as he rehabs his leg. In part of EF Pro Cycling’s series of Zwift events, Woods is asking for fans to join him so that he can tap into what he is missing most; riding with a community.

“I think what I have been missing most over this quarantine, and recovery from injury, is the sense of community and camaraderie that I get from going on a ride with others,” Woods said. “I have been doing #recoveryrideswithmike on Zwift for the past several weeks, and each time I get off the bike, I do so with a smile. People have been joining from Canada, and all over the world, and asking me a ton of questions. It helps pass the time, and makes me remember what I enjoy most about cycling”

Woods crashed hard on a descent in Paris-Nice in March, breaking his femur in the process. Since then, he’s been on the road to recovery and slowly rebuilding strength in his leg.

“Often, on pro rides, there is a lot of dropping and getting dropped, but cycling isn't just about smashing each other, it's also a great way to get out and have a chat.” Woods said in a press release from his team. "I have been answering as many questions as I can on these rides, and no question is off limits. I was even asked on one of these rides, who I prefer: Wile E. coyote or Road Runner... I chose Wile. E.”

If you want to ride with Woods a Vuelta a España stage winner, or have a chat with the Canadian Pro as he comes back from his injury, you can do so at the following times:

All rides start at 16:00 CEST / 10:00 EST / 07:00 PST and occur every Wednesday & Saturday for the month of May.

Woods has indicated that he will be averaging between 2.5-3.5 watts/kg during each ride.
