Smart Trainers, Power Meters & HRM
- Events will not allow riders to join without a recognised Smart Trainer beign connected
- Smart Trainers are expected to be used as a riders PRIMARY POWER SOURCE where possible (Spin bikes must be declare to Race Control as these are NOT classed as smart trainers)
- POWER METERS can be used as Primary source if a Smart Trainer is not available
- Riders must understand that if verification is required that Race Control can verify with the Zwift platform if a rider has used a power meter as a primary power source over a smart trainer.
HRMs are strongly advised, the only reason we do not make them mandatory on joining an event is that sometimes they fail or batteries stop mid race so we do not want to penalise the accidents, however riders with little or no history we wil encourage to merchandise.
Why is this important - Video's may show that a riders BIO is fine and their setup looks good but this doesn't confirm that's what they used - we can now verify the trainer connected where required because it is known that PMs data can be altered and settings tweaked to produce more power.
So be SMART and use a SMART trainer as your PRIMARY power source where you can....
FRR Code of Conduct
- We expect the best racing behavior from all riders, if riders have an issue then always contact race control via email first, we will investigate every request raised.
- In race we do not expect riders to abuse others, flag, report to race control, screen shot etc.... riders who ignore this will be DQ'd for the season
- Discord chat remains objective and banter - anything more will be removed and warnings/bans will be issued
And finally remember we all do this for fun and exercise so ride on and enjoy the FRR events....stay safe and if it starts to hurt then welcome to the fun zone...!
(But stop if it really does hurt too much please!)
