HIGH C CAT - 2.5 w/kg Av TEMPO, 3.0 to 4.0 w/kg RAMPS
Come and join the Team and Tap out a steady Rhythm and put some good Base work into those legs as we start to focus on those longer real life rides you may face this year. You will find a mix of B and C CAT riders in the pen but we ride together and support each other. These Club Rides leave the Pen at 08:30 and 14:45 on Saturday and the distances will increase as we move through winter in Europe.
This is our weekly ‘Endurance’ event with distances increasing through the month anywhere between 100 to 160 km. The leader will be focussed on keeping their Average at 2.5 w/kg on Zwift Power Live Data and riding mid pack using the double draft. If you are a ‘B’ CAT driving at the front you may find your average closer to 3.0 w/kg so everyone will see the benefits. For instructions on how to register with Zwift Power visit this page, https://support.zwift.com/de/how-to-fully-connect-to-zwift-power-HyxPkCkSQOpens a new window. After completion it is easy to join Team CLS.
You do need to be able to hold the described pace on this one, it is designed to be a ‘slow burner’ you might say. Please think carefully about joining if you cannot hold these w/kg as the leader will not slow at the expense of other riders in the group. Stay tight and you will stay on, let a small gap develop and you will be spat out the back. So just like riding a high pace on the roads you need to keep focussed. WARNING - If you are dropped and you are lucky enough that someone comes to give you a wheel you may need to push 3.5 to 4.0 w/kg to get back to the Peloton.
Any short ramps we lift the active pace but then settle back ASAP. The leader may also introduce real life situations you may face out on the road, such as headwinds and tailwinds / good or bad roads, maybe even breakaways where efforts may be required to go up or down for periods.
NOTE - If you use Zwift Power and have ridden off the front and not supported the group we will re-classify your CAT as MICE ! You keep your data but it comes at a price.
For your information, we run a 60-minute RECOVERY ride on Sundays, followed by our weekday workouts. It’s Twin CAT, TEMPO and CLIMBING sessions on Tuesday and INTERVAL HIT ones on Thursdays - all three at 18:50 GMT. Finally on the 3rd or 4th week of the month Team CLS has it’s RACE WEEK where all our events become races. This is a great chance to take on your colleagues and test your fitness or just to turn up and give it a go. More details on our group page but you need to be a member of our Zwift Power Team to register on the league tables, follow the link below but make sure you have enabled data sharing on your Zwift connections page.

We run a Team Facebook Group, which we encourage people to follow for news and other group ride info and events. It is also a great place to ask any questions you may have about Zwift and we will do our best to answer them for you. We have tried to put together a FULL weekly package that will allow riders to both enjoy their indoor sessions and back that up with some great workouts that will improve your fitness. Our Rides are entertaining throughout, and we have some fantastic regulars on every ride, so what are you waiting for, come and join us.
