Off-Road Bikes Available in the Drop Shop

ON December 12, 2019 by Matt Noble

Off-road bikes are available in the Zwift Drop Shop. These bikes can be purchased with in-game credit, ‘Drops’, as long as you have met or exceeded the level based availability. The new off-road bikes have different rolling resistances and physics than road bikes which means that all bikes now have their pros and cons across the various terrains within the Zwift worlds. Clip-in and get-some.

Zwift Gravel Bike

Type: Gravel

How to acquire

  • Head to the Drop Shop and select the Zwift logo
  • Cost: 163,300 Drops
  • Availability: Level 1 and above

Bike Description:

From the snow-capped mountains of the radio tower to the lush jungle trails of the ruins, this bike is ready for adventure. Equally, at home on pavement, cobbles, wooden bridges, and trails, the only thing that will hold you back is your imagination.

Best For:

The Gravel Bike is a blend of two worlds. Road and off-road. It does both well but not quite as good as the road or mountain bike in its specific areas.  If your ride is going to take you across a variety of surfaces, the gravel bike will maintain good rolling speed everywhere. A good all-round bike.

Canyon Inflite

Type: Cyclo-Cross (CX) Bike

How to acquire

  • Head to the Drop Shop and select the Canyon bikes logo
  • Cost: 234,300 Drops
  • Availability: Level 10 and above

Bike Description:

Built to compete, the Canyon Inflite CF SLX is a thoroughbred CX race bike that boasts enough tire clearance to be a capable gravel and adventure steed as well. Whether it’s the Belgian mud or the hardscrabble washboard of Kanza, the Inflite will fly you to the finish.

Best For:

The CX bike is very similar to the gravel bike and uses the same wheels/tires, so the rolling resistance is the same. Just like the gravel bikes, this CX bike will be good across a variety of surfaces. But the road bike is still the outright winner on-road.

Zwift MTB

Type: Mountain Bike (MTB)

How to Unlock:

  • The Zwift MTB is an automatic level 1 unlock. This means you can hit the dirt in Zwift straight away.
  • You can also give it a rip on the Repack Ridge Singletrack
  • When first launch, the bike could only be unlocked by completing the 2-mile course in under 12:30 with all 10 stars to. Looks easy, but these lines can be tricky. See if you can beat the time.

Bike Description:

With a race-tuned, air-sprung suspension front and back, this bike is at it’s best when the road becomes a trail. Ride on rails through muddy berms, easily clear fallen logs, and let it rip on technical singletrack. Light enough to climb like a rocket but with a stable geometry that gives you the confidence to drop like a rock when the trail points downhill.

Best For:

Mountain bikes have the highest rolling resistance because of the big treaded tires. But this tread equals traction which is important for riding singletrack. It’s fastest on trails and gravel, and slowest on the road. Best for training or MTB specific race/events.
