ABOUT

Join Zwift CEO Eric Min as he leads a 2.5-3 w/kg group ride on the Volcano Flat route. All are welcome but please respect the pace, this is not a race. No waiting for slow riders.

WHY IS CALLED THE GIMBELS RIDE?

In the real world, the 'Gimbels Ride' is a legendary group ride that takes place every weekend in Westchester, NY. Growing up, Eric Min was a regular on this ride and still joins the group when he's in town. The ride is said to have originated in the 1940's and it takes its name from the defunct Gimbels Department Store, the location where the ride starts. It has the reputation of attracting some of the best riders in the New York City area and it's especially fast in the spring when local strong men and the occasional pro are known to terrorize the peloton.
