イベント概要
Run by former and current pros, The Cyclists’ Alliance is a foundation, funded purely by donations and subscriptions, that provides holistic support to professional female cyclists during and after their careers. The Cyclists’ Alliance works hard to secure fairer pay for female athletes, resolve disputes with teams, provide emotional and economic support, and elevate the appeal of women’s cycling.https://cyclistsalliance.orgOpens a new window
This Zwift social ride is for anyone who wants to join The Cyclists’ Alliance movement for change and chat directly with the women from the professional peloton!
This week's special guest is
Ride Leader: Roos
Roos currently rides for Biehler Krush Pro Cycling and prior to this she rode for Bizkaia-Durango. Roos has raced the infamous Giro Rosa, Flèche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege to name a few and regularly joins the local Kermesses in Belgium and The Netherlands. Roos is also responsible for the finances of The Cyclists’ Alliance to ensure we can provide the fundamental services to our riders.
This week's guest is Doris Schweizer
Doris Schweizer is a Swiss cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team; Team Illuminate. Doris is a 5 times Swiss National Champion, she won a Bronze medal at the World Championships TTT in 2014, secured a 14th on General Classification at the Giro Rosa 2016, and has had countless stage wins and top 10 General Classification placings in UCI races!
Doris also works full time at McDonalds to fund her cycling career and is fluent in four languages (German, Italian, English and French) and will happily chat to you in any of these languages during the Zwift ride!
Doris joined the Cyclists’ Alliance at the very beginning so she is a very special member to us! Doris bravely submitted a complaint to the UCI Ethics Commission as part of the 2015/2016 case against Bigla Cycling Team due to mistreatment and abusive towards riders. She really wished the TCA; an independent union for riders had existed at this time to support her and her case. Doris says; “That`s why I think it`s so important to join the TCA as a rider, because you never know what will happen to you tomorrow. And why it’s so important for supporters to donate to fund the services that help riders”.
