ABOUT THIS WORKOUT
Training at this sweet spot is more sustainable than Hill repeats work and less time consuming than endurance training, so cyclists can repeat it frequently and see real improvements.
The concept of Sweet Spot Training (SST) is one of the most time effective ways of getting stronger on the bike. SST is done by doing intervals at 84% to 92% of your Funtional Hill repeats Power (FTP)
This workout involves 6 x 6 minute efforts at 88% FTP
WORKOUT CREATOR
Fresh off the success of other Virtual Training for Real World Events Ben Gove has been a focused Zwift advocate for 2 years. He currently Hosts this series along with THE CHOP race events weekly. Ben not only leads the ride but is also competing at the event itself adding a rare ability to train and ride a real world event together. Ben is an advocate and Ambassador to one of Zwift's charity Partners in World Bicycle Relief http://fundraiseau.worldbicyclerelief.org/team/WBRsparticasOpens a new window
ABOUT GROUP WORKOUTS
Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedalling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.
HELPFUL HINT
We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your current fitness level.
For more info on FTP go to: https://support.zwift.com/hc/en-us/articles/210208083-What-is-FTP-and-how-is-it-used-in-ZwiftOpens a new window
