on July 01, 2022

If you’re looking for a competitive weekly race series, you’ve found it. Back for a fourth year, the Zwift Classics is a series of seven unique races, with each taking place in a different Zwift world.

Let’s Race!

Whether you’re new to racing or a seasoned vet, this is the race for you. Each race will run for one week, with multiple daily time slots available. There are open events as well as women’s only events. All races use category enforcement to enforce a minimum category based on your power history, helping to ensure fair and fun racing for all. See Category Enforcement FAQ

One Series, Three Competitions

Race for the line, or race for overall series position. The Zwift Classics series is actually three competitions in one!

  • Race Position: first across the line wins, but you can race each event more than once if you’d like!
  • Global Position for Each Race: see your results vs. all other racers for each week’s event on ZwiftPower. (You may filter results by gender and ZwiftPower category.)
  • Overall Global Position Across All Races: track your performance across all the Classics races via an overall time-based GC on ZwiftPower.

The Races

Week 1: The Apple Lap (11th July - 17th July)

Covering two laps of New York’s Astoria Line 8, this race is 23km long with 282m of elevation. This route covers all of Central Park’s ground-level roads, so while you won’t be taking on any big climbs, the terrain is constantly rolling and vigilance will be essential!

Week 2: Watopia Cup (18th July - 24th July)

Riders head to Watopia for the second week of the series, taking on three laps of the Two Bridges Loop. Total race length is 22km with 240m of climbing. This route is mostly flat, but riders will attack on the short climb just after Hank’s Oil and Gas at the base of the Hilly KOM Reverse. Hold onto those wheels, there’s a super-tuck waiting on the other side!

Week 3: Watch the Femmes (25th July - 31st July)

On July 24th, the women’s pro peloton will depart from Paris and race into the history books. We’re celebrating by hosting a Watch The Femmes takeover for week three of the Zwift Classics! Races will be held on France’s Casse-Pattes route (23.9km long, 145m of elevation). Most of the route is pan-flat, but the zig-zagging Petit KOM will prove decisive as it ends just 4km from the finish line.

Week 4: Yorkshire Grand Prix (1st August - 7th August)

From France we travel across the sea to Yorkshire for week four to take on a partial lap of the Royal Pump Room 8. Bring your climbing legs as this pitchy race ends atop the reverse KOM for a total distance of 18.7km and 343m of climbing.

Powerups: Anvil, Draft, Ghost

Week 5: London International (8th August - 14th August)

From Yorkshire we hop over to London for a go at the London 8. Racers will complete 1.5 laps of the route, finishing on The Mall for a total distance of 27.8km and 262m of elevation. The pack will stretch out and break up on Box Hill, the longest climb of the series thus far. But riders will have a chance to chase back to the climbers on the 13km of descent and flats which follow!

Powerups: Anvil, Burrito, Draft
Race recon notes (important: this recon covers the full London 8 route, but the Classics race is over 1.5 laps of the route, finishing on The Mall with a flat sprint)

Week 6: Rund um Innsbruck (15th August - 21st August)

Racers will take on Innsbruck’s infamous “leg snapper” not once, not twice, but three times this week as they complete 2.5 Innsbruckring laps. With a custom finish atop the Leg Snapper total distance is 23km, with 213m of climbing. Better work on boosting your 1-minute watts per kilo, as you’ll need all you can get!

Powerups: Aero, Feather, Ghost

Week 7: Trofeo Bologna (22nd August - 28th August)

We finish with the shortest race of the series (8.05km), but it includes the longest climb of the series as well! A replica of the Giro d’Italia prologue TT stage raced in 2019, approximately half of your ride time will be spent on the flat first section, with the second half being an all-out effort up the climb to the finish line.
